Executive Summary: The Culture Syllabus - Increasingly, parents, educators and students are coming to recognize that French as a second language (FSL) is taught in Canada for a variety of social, economic and political reasons as well as for "educational" ones. Many educators over the years, and particularly the late Dr. H. H. Stern in Towards a Multidimensional Foreign Language Curriculum, persuasively presented the case for an integrated cultural component within the core French.
