The LangCanada.ca Mission

The mission of the LangCanada portal project is to promote and develop the linguistic duality of Canada by providing a one-stop window on the Internet that provides access to information and resources related to second official language teaching and learning.

The LangCanada.ca team, a team of teachers and consultants working on behalf of the Official Languages Support Branch of Canadian Heritage, have worked diligently to provide teachers and students with easy access to over 3 000 educational resources and over 500 educational institutions.

As of August 1st 2005, the Canadian Association of Second Language Teachers (CASLT) has taken over the contract for maintaining and marketing the LangCanada.ca.

The CASLT specifically recognizes the potential of technology as an effective method of disseminating information on innovative practices and language support programs to enrich the acquisition of a second language and its teaching. The CASLT proposes to establish a stakeholder advisory committee to help direct and guide the next steps for this portal website and to support its marketing.

If you have any questions about the initiative, please contact webmaster@caslt.org
